Introduction

Our practice has a long history of providing a top class service to the farming community. We aim to provide a friendly, efficient and approachable service. Our veterinary surgeons and staff are always available for advice and support for our local farmers, both small and large and across all farm species, and are committed to providing dedicated, progressive veterinary care.

The Lutterworth branch is the centre for the farm animal practice, responsible for co-ordinating farm visits, booking TB tests and account queries. (However, we stock farm animal medications at both surgeries). Practice partner Tom Mitchell heads the farm vet team, which includes Sarah Hicks and Tori West, with cover provided by practice partners Helen Robinson & Belinda McGrane.

Services

As a first opinion farm animal practice, we are used to dealing with the usual farm animal emergencies, but an increasing amount of our time is spent doing “routine” work such as fertility scanning, health planning, and TB testing, as well as the traditional veterinary tasks such as dehorning and castrating.

We have ultrasound scanners for cattle fertility and pregnancy diagnosis. Access to Interherd software allows analysis of dairy herd records such as NMR cell count results. Our in house laboratory facilities enable us to carry out various tests, including skin scrapes (eg sheep scab), colostrum, blood and calf scour testing.

We produce health plans to meet farm assurance standards and allow cost benefit analysis of farm health performance.

We provide a 24 hour emergency service from within our own workforce, giving you the peace of mind that comes from continuity of care.
