HEAD VETERINARY NURSE
Jan studied Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management at Harper Adams University College where she specialised in large animals and qualified with an honours degree in 2009.
Jan first worked as an assistant practice manager and vet nurse in Scotland before joining the BVG team in January 2011 to work a maternity cover. After 9 months of travelling the world and working in vets practices in Australia, she returned to work full time in July 2012 as our Senior Veterinary Nurse based in the Lutterworth branch and then became Head Veterinary Nurse in 2017.
Having grown up on a farm, Jan has an interest in all things farm related. She is our ‘Mobility Mentor’ as part of the ‘Dairy Healthy Feet Programme’ for Red Tractor Farm Assurance and also has a keen interest in farm animal health planning, assisting in farm animal surgery as well as organising of farm client meetings.
Jan is a ‘clinical coach’ for training student veterinary nurses and ‘Pet Health Counsellor’ for small animals, including nursing consultations and enjoys small animal surgery.
In her spare time, Jan likes to travel and visit her family’s farm to help out when she can. She enjoys keeping fit with bootcamp and is always busy socialising with friends.
