We have taken the difficult decision to cease providing our own out of hours emergency care for companion animals.
We have provided this service for many years, asking our vets to work long, back-to-back day and night shifts, but working under the additional conditions imposed by the Covid-19 restrictions have contributed to our increased concerns about their mental and physical health.

From February 1st, our colleagues at Northlands Veterinary Hospital in Kettering will begin supplying this service for our clients.
Whilst this was a difficult decision for us to make, we believe that it is in the best interests of both our staff and our clients, as it will lead to you receiving a better level of service. Northlands is a hospital which provides continuous overnight care, which as a general practice we are not able to match. We feel that this will lead to a better work life balance for our vets, leaving them refreshed and more focussed during the day.

Northlands will provide a comprehensive emergency service with overnight hospitalisation. They have full access to our patient records and we will be in constant communication with them to ensure that you receive the best care possible. They will provide a transportation service between practices for any day patients requiring overnight hospitalisation, and patients will remain there until ready to go home (we do not believe it is in the patients best interests to ferry them back and forth every day). We will provide the contact details for the Northlands practice below.

For any of our farm clients, we will be continuing to provide our farm emergency service as usual, via the team at Cross Counties Farm Vets, who will be in contact to introduce themselves soon if they have not done so already.

We hope that you understand that this has been a difficult decision for us and support us through this transition. If you have any concerns, please do contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
